Modernize and lead the finance function for a $1B real estate group at the forefront of sustainable development.
About the Company
Our client is an integrated real estate company based in Kitchener, Ontario, with $1 billion in net assets. For over 20 years, it has designed, built, and managed landmark residential and mixed-use developments that combine architectural innovation with sustainable infrastructure.
With 100+ employees and deep community roots, the company operates across development, property management, information technology, and procurement services. Its culture is collaborative, entrepreneurial, and focused on long-term impact for residents and stakeholders alike.
The Mandate
Following a leadership transition, our client is hiring a hands-on Controller to lead the modernization and execution of its finance function. Reporting to the CFO, you will own all accounting operations, bring structure to month-end close and reporting cycles, and lead the implementation of budgeting and planning capabilities in Yardi Voyager.
This is a high-impact leadership role in a lean, growing team. You’ll manage three direct reports, optimize systems, and become a key strategic partner in its continued expansion—including a move into new verticals like agriculture. The mandate is both technical and transformational: drive reporting excellence, process discipline, and team performance in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
