Our client is a privately held, family-owned Canadian industrial manufacturing company employing over 1,000 people in North America with headquarters in Grimsby, ON
Reporting directly into the CFO, this newly created role has a simple mission – to be a critical executive partner to the CEO and CFO. The individual who fills this role will be an essential member of the leadership team, managing the finance and technology functions while participating in key decisions pertaining to strategic financial initiatives, operational execution, investments, and corporate development, in addition to other important planning and policy‐related decisions.
He/she will have excelled within the finance function as a senior-level executive, and either has managed a department or division of similar size and is keen to take on their next growth mandate and eager to be part of a leading company in the complex metal manufacturing industry. This Vice President will have been exposed to various functions throughout their career and can speak with inspiration and passion for the business. He/she will be capable of implementing new systems, tools, and processes. He/she must have a sense of ownership and pride in their performance as it relates to their impact on the company’s success while possessing the traits of a critical thinker. The successful candidate must have problem-solving skills, excellent time-management, and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and be a strong leader with an adaptable, innovative mindset alongside being a great team player. All in all, they will be an individual with high energy, results orientated, and a sense of urgency, and a strong work ethic.
Candidates must have the following experience to be considered:
1. 15+ years working at a leadership level within the fabricated metal, primary metal, construction, mining, or heavy manufacturing industries or related field overseeing financing, budgeting, forecasting, and planning.
2. A tech-savvy individual will be best equipped to oversee the IT sector, which aligns under the leader’s scope of responsibility.
3. Candidate with an accounting core, a CPA plus an advanced degree in business, finance, accounting.
4. Experience in M&A, IT, and project planning.
