Who you are:
The ideal candidate will be a tax manager who has successfully demonstrated their ability to work independently while progressing in their career and are now looking for an opportunity to make a significant impact on an organization’s future. This individual will have proven to balance their strong business acumen with deep analytical skills; while also showcasing their expertise in tax management, business process improvements, sales tax, and provincial tax.
They will be a respected and collaborative leader with strong communication skills, capable of building relationships with both, internal team members, and clients while helping foster a positive culture in a mission-driven environment. Therefore, this individual must have demonstrated their ability in influencing and motivating others through their strong work ethic and ability in maintaining an open line of communication when required.
Finally, this candidate will be expected to work with a sense of ownership and pride as their performance will directly impact the future success of NVA Canada.
The impact you will have:
Reporting directly to the Controller, you will serve as an account owner, an advisor, and an overall critical member of the leadership team. You will be tasked with identifying, implementing, and standardizing new systems and processes while offloading residual fees to help facilitate the organization’s long-term goal of investing and expanding its infrastructure.
What are we looking for?
We would love to hear from you if you have the following…
- 7+ years of progressive tax experience, with at least 2 years spent in a managerial capacity.
- Proven ability in driving process improvements by introducing new, and/or improving upon current systems, and procedures.
- Prior experience working with Canadian sales tax (GST/HST) as well as provincial sales tax (QC, MB, BC, SK).
- Demonstrated their ability in facilitating and managing the preparation and timely filing of corporate tax returns.
- Strong communicator capable of establishing trusting relationships across a wide spectrum (i.e., clients, business owners, domestic & international team members, CRA, etc.).
- Successful completion of the CPA designation.
